School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, Walailak University Signs AOC with MNS-University of Agriculture, Pakistan to Elevate Global Agricultural Research and Academic Excellence

On January 16, 2026, the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry at Walailak University (WU), Thailand, and MNS-University of Agriculture, Multan (MNSUAM), Pakistan, officially held a signing ceremony for an Agreement of Cooperation (AOC). This partnership aims to strengthen academic ties and promote the exchange of international knowledge.

Synergizing Two Leading Institutions

The primary objective of this agreement is to establish a sustainable framework for cooperation between the two institutions, focusing on enhancing educational and research potential—particularly in the fields of agriculture and applied sciences, which are core strengths of both universities. The scope of cooperation outlined in the AOC includes:

  1. Student and Staff Exchange: To provide opportunities for learning diverse cultures and international professional techniques.

  2. Joint Research: To create innovations and solutions addressing global agricultural challenges and food security.

  3. Academic Conferences and Seminars: To share research findings and build a global network of scholars.

  4. Exchange of Educational Resources: Including academic documents, data, and instructional curricula.

A Vision for Global Collaboration

The Dean of the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry stated: “The signing of this AOC is not only the beginning of knowledge sharing but also a significant step in propelling Walailak University toward becoming a World Class University through a strong collaborative network with leading educational institutions in South Asia.”

Meanwhile, the representative from MNS-University of Agriculture expressed confidence that Thailand’s expertise in technology and research—specifically from Walailak University—will significantly enhance agricultural innovation in Pakistan.

Next Steps for the Partnership

Following the signing, both institutions plan to launch short-term researcher exchange programs and develop joint online training courses. These initiatives are expected to yield tangible results within this academic year.
