SAF Researcher on the Global Stage: Prof. Dr. Manat Chaijan Delivers Invited Lecture at IFRC 2026, Malaysia
Selangor, Malaysia – The School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry (SAF), Walailak University, proudly congratulates Prof. Dr. Manat Chaijan on his distinguished role as an Invited Speaker at the 4th International Food Research Conference (IFRC 2026), held from August 18 to 21, 2026, in Selangor, Malaysia. The prestigious event was co-organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Jinan University, China.
Speaking in the Food Chemistry and Food Biotechnology track, Prof. Dr. Manat delivered a special lecture titled “pH-Shift Processing as a Sustainable Platform for Recovering Functional Protein Isolates from Diverse Underutilised Raw Materials.” His presentation highlighted cutting-edge approaches to extracting and valorising high-value functional proteins from underutilised resources and agro-industrial by-products, offering sustainable solutions for the global food manufacturing sector.
Prof. Dr. Manat serves as the Head of the Food Technology and Innovation Research Centre of Excellence and Research Director at SAF. Internationally recognized for his scientific impact, he is named in Stanford/Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% Scientists list, with over 160 international peer-reviewed publications and an h-index of 38. His core research expertise includes food chemistry, protein isolates, surimi technology, and sustainable by-product valorisation.
