Philosophy/Objectives

The philosophy of this curriculum is to produce an academic researcher who has a capacity to perform at high standard especially in the areas of Plant Science, Animal Science or Fishery Science. The graduated masters know how to use resources efficiently and are up to date to technology; Knowing Agricultural Science, Be up to date, Capacity of research performance. Walailak University is located in the rural areas of the upper part southern region of Thailand. The areas surround by agriculture both plants, animals and fisheries production which are supported by 2 river basins: Pak Panang and Tache. Therefore, Walailak University area is suitable for studying and doing research in Agricultural Science due to the diversity of agricultural production and activities. In addition, Walailak University can provide a high standard of facilities in term of laboratory, basic and special equipment and also the University farm. At present the school of Agricultural Technology has established The Center of Excellence of Oil Palm, The Center of Excellence of Shrimp and the Research Unit of Tropical Plants to do research and innovation for the development of agriculture in the areas and also as knowledge to publish internationally. Therefore, the master candidate students in agricultural science at Walialuk University will be trained and performed with international standards, his or her thesis will be useful for farmers and scientists both in Thailand and other countries.
