Philosophy/Objectives
The purpose of Doctor of Philosophy Program in Agro-Industry, Walailak University, is to provide graduates with the ability of independent creative research and deep knowledge in the field of biotechnology and food science and technology. Educated students could integrated knowledge of advanced applicable theory in related field to be an academic excellent that provide sustainable development and strengthening of the nation. Agro-industry,Walailak University become a part of rural community and industries in Southern Thailand that provide “area-based research” related to agricultural resources such as oil palm, fruits and vegetables, rice, medicinal plants, seafood, biomass and agro-industrial waste to support research problems with high added value, clean and environmental friendly and socially sustainable.
Objective
Graduates from this program will be:
1) Have professional autonomy and ethical aspects in the field of biotechnology and food science and technology.
2) Create a professional scientific knowledge and skills to establish innovative technologies with international recognition.
3) Integrate research knowledge and apply skills on rural resources to provide a sustainable products and development.
4) Have communication and interpersonal skills, leadership and responsibility, knowledge mobilization and knowledge translation and career management.
