

On January 16, 2025, the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worawan Phanpipat, Dean of the School, together with faculty members and the Center for International Affairs (CIA), held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Jue-Liang Hsu, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Chan-Chiung Liu, Head of the Department of Food Science, and officials from the Office of International Affairs at the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan. The purpose of the meeting was to foster collaboration in education and research across several promising areas, including:
Short-term undergraduate student exchange programs
Long-term exchange programs such as internships and cooperative education at NPUST
Graduate student exchange programs for research collaboration
Development of dual degree programs to enhance educational opportunities
Research collaboration and co-publication initiatives
Joint online teaching and learning programs
Organization of webinars to facilitate knowledge exchange
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in enhancing the capabilities of students and staff while elevating research to sustainable international standards.



School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, Walailak University, Leads Cultural Exchange Program at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan
From March 23 to 30, 2025, the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, Walailak University, organized a cultural exchange program at the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) in Taiwan. A group of 14 students participated in the program, which aimed to enhance their international learning experience and promote cultural exchange between the two institutions.
The objectives of the program were to expose students to international educational and research systems in the fields of agricultural technology and food industry, and to provide them with the opportunity to experience Taiwanese culture, traditions, and lifestyle firsthand.
During the 8-day program, Walailak University students engaged in a variety of activities, including special lectures by NPUST faculty experts on topics related to agricultural and food technology, visits to advanced laboratories and research centers, field trips to farms and food processing facilities, as well as cultural exchange activities with Taiwanese students.
This student exchange initiative is part of the ongoing academic collaboration between Walailak University and the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. Both institutions are committed to fostering mutual learning and enhancing the capabilities of their students and staff through continuous academic cooperation.

Special Lecture: “Fruit Crop Production and Innovation in Vietnam”

The School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, Walailak University, organized a special lecture on the topic “Fruit Crop Production and Innovation in Vietnam”, delivered by Dr. Hien Huu Nguyen from the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Vinh University, Vietnam.
The lecture provided new perspectives on fruit crop production techniques and agricultural innovations that have played a significant role in driving Vietnam’s fruit industry onto the global stage. Dr. Nguyen shared his expertise and real-world experiences, offering valuable insights that enriched the learning atmosphere for all participants.
This event served as an excellent opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge, exchange views, and gain inspiration to develop themselves as future contributors to modern agriculture.

The School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, Walailak University, successfully joined the Online Summer School Program hosted by Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanet Khomphet delivered an insightful lecture on “Good Agricultural Practices for Melon Production in a Soilless Culture System” on 25 August 2025 (14.00–15.15 Jakarta time).
The session brought together participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, fostering international academic networking and knowledge exchange.
